NWE: 2016 Peirigas rouge (red blend)


This silver medal winner has personality: both understated and refined. Drinking it is like uncovering a fascinating secret. Languedoc-Roussillon, a largely underrated region internationally, shows its best side in this wine. Each sip, is like decoding a mystery mingling of dark fruit. Old vines from the vineyards of le Côtes de Thongue influence this dry red blend bringing out the best in southern climate Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Carignan. Supple tannins permit a solo joyance or a favorable companionship with grilled steak, lamb or charcuterie.
