If you’ve already read the essay that introduces this wine, my wish is that you have the same experience when you try it. With only a few years to evolve, I found it surprisingly splendid, the day I pulled the cork.

A complex leader cloaked in a deep ruby-colored robe, this wine leads with aromas of musk, saddle, cedar and fresh-turned soil. The fruit is there: red and black, baked and brambly; also cassis, black cherry and raspberry accompanied by mushroom and licorice with a hint of fur to round out the nose. The palate is as pronounced as the aromas with a court of mature fruit integrated with judicious oak spices. An artisanal creation, structured without force or gaudiness. Neither lush or austere, it has an elegant, harmonious mouthfeel and a beautifully balanced acid-tannin backbone. All the keepers of the kingdom united in one bottle for a long and sophisticated finish that begets its lineage.
